YCAP serves many of these low-income residents, such as seniors and those with disabilities who struggle with fixed incomes, as well as individuals and families who are in low-wage positions or seeking employment, survivors of domestic violence, migrant families, homeless families and at-risk youth.

SafeHaven of Tarrant County https://tst.sanaazmeh.com/charitie/safehaven-of-tarrant-county/ Sat, 05 Dec 2020 03:28:56 +0000 https://tst.sanaazmeh.com/charitie/safehaven-of-tarrant-county/ Women’s Haven of Tarrant County and The Women’s Shelter in Arlington merged to create SafeHaven of Tarrant County in 2006. The mission of SafeHaven is to end domestic violence through safety, support, prevention and social change. The crisis line is staffed 24 hours a day by employees and trained volunteers to facilitate shelter entry and to give information and referrals. SafeHaven operates two emergency shelter facilities located in Fort Worth and Arlington. While in the shelter, residents receive meals, personal care items, clothing, transportation assistance, legal assistance, and childcare. Transitional housing is provided to victims and their children seeking self-sufficiency and independence. We also provide counseling, support groups, case management, legal assistance, play therapy and education to victims of domestic violence.

The causes they served – wage equity, rape crisis, domestic violence, reproductive freedom – were controversial and hard to fund. They joined together to raise a collective voice and to generate funding for issues impacting women. Women’s Way has put over 20 million dollars to work to enhance the lives of women and families and to provide vital support and assistance to the agencies that serve them. Each year, Women’s Way allocates critical operating funds to six member agencies, and also provides grants to a dynamic group of agencies through its Community Women’s Fund.
